Venturing into the manufacturing & assembly of motor vehicle, marking a new chapter in Amtel’s growth and supporting its long-term vision to serve both domestic and international markets.

Conducted EV Battery Remanufacturing Training for 30 Participants in Collaboration with MARii

Launched the patented LOKATAG PRO, the first-of-its-kind connected toll reader & dashcam, in collaboration with Zurich Malaysia.

Successfully supplied EV charging solutions to PROTON & GENTARI, TNB, UMP, MTDC, and Stellantis.

Formed a joint venture, Amtel Digital Sdn Bhd, to deliver digital & payment solutions.

Established the Green Technology Division, now comprising Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Solutions, EV Battery Repair Services, and Energy Storage Solutions.

Inaugurated the new headquarters, Wisma Amtel, in Glenmarie, Shah Alam.

Launched a Digital Video Recorder (Dashcam) for Perodua.

Established a manufacturing arm for its Safety Series, including the Battery Alert System, Brake Light Sensor, and Malaysia’s first and only SIRIM-certified Car Jump Starter.

Developed an in-house Traffic Information System.

Introduced built-in toll readers to Proton.

Released the LOKATAG branded toll reader for the aftermarket industry.

Launched built-in toll readers for Honda, Ford & Borgward.

Expanded built-in toll reader solutions to Lexus, Isuzu & Haval.

Released the second-generation built-in toll reader, white-labelled for Toyota & Perodua.

Introduced the first-generation Rearview Mirror SmartTAG for Great Wall Motors.

Launched the Automatic Vehicle Location System (AVLS).

Expanded offerings to Great Wall Motors, including multimedia head units, navigation software, car speakers, reverse sensors, Battery Alert Systems & Around View Camera Systems.

Integrated LOKATOO software into Proton, Perodua & Isuzu’s multimedia units/double-DIN systems.

Began supplying multimedia head units (double-DIN) to Isuzu.

Established an assembly arm to supply reverse cameras to Proton & Perodua.

2011: Achieved ISO/TS 16949:2009 certification for LOKATOO, laying the foundation for our continued compliance with global automotive quality management standards. Today, AMTEL is certified to IATF 16949:2016.

Began exploring Telematics Service Platforms.

PERODUA adopts LOKATOO GPS navigation system

Launched the first locally developed LOKATOO GPS navigation system in collaboration with Proton, initially supporting Malay, English, and Mandarin, with Tamil and Japanese added in subsequent years.

Entered the automotive industry, supplying integrated software & hardware solutions.

Began research & development on Malaysia’s first localised navigation system.

Ventured into Geographic Information System (GIS) solutions, converting Malaysia‘s physical maps into digital navigation maps together with our associate company – Milan Utama Sdn Bhd & Telekom Malaysia Berhad

Listed on Bursa Malaysia under the stock name: AMTEL & stock code: 7031

Founded on 25 August 1993, Amtel began as a distributor & service provider of two-way radio communication products & as a contractor specialising in telecommunications infrastructure, including fibre optic cable installation & related civil works.
